BDCI is a creative design studio for innovation
BDCI forms a consortium in accordance with the characteristics of the client's project. The consortium consists of experts from various backgrounds.
In the design field, we continue to collaborate independent designers with reputation, senior designer with fresh sense, production designer, engineers and basic science researchers on demand. The consortium system has the ability to process wider range than we think. We start from marketing strategy and product planning consulting, and it the various background of specialist support from the design process. The consortium covers from branding, form, function, basic technology, color, material, prototype, forming, manufacturing, finishing, package, selling and marketing in a consistent manner.
Sometimes we make a competitive structure internally to derive evolved outcome. We basically focus on the efficiency of the project and create an environment where a designer can focus for the satisfaction of clients. The foremost thing through the extensive support of the project is to bring tangible result.
For this, BDCI provides the information about the market situation, characteristic of client and project, along with we manage communication of the consortium and client, negotiation, manufacturing and legal rights after the production.
We cherish the sense of the price under the market economy. Utilizing the characteristics of a consortium to take advantage of the international cultural experience that dynamically respond to market changes from time to time, we are building experience with the large companies as well as small companies.
Founder | Creative Director
Semin graduated International Relations and started her career in marketing and PR. She gained masters degree of Living Environment in Japan.
She conducts framing and management of all BDCI’s projects, based on her insight and communication skills from various experience.
Systemer | Designer
Ken graduated industrial design in Korea and continued his study in Japan for master degree of design theory. He joined in BDCI after his career via Coway and Samsung Electronics. His main role in BDCI is directing and building design process of various fields.
He is seeking for a new path for next generation’s design and established DFMA company Thinksmake in 2014.
Project Manager | Designer
Eunyoung graduated industrial design in Australia and joined BDCI in 2010 through her experience in Hers Experimental Design Lab. in Japan. She is managing all projects of BDCI based on her communication skills.
Sungwon has a degree in Ceramics and turned to an industrial designer. With his professional experience as industrial design, he joined in BDCI.
He performs as a product design and design engineer, as he manages to design difficult internal mechanism and technical engineering. He also works as a pivotal role in Thinksmaker.
Jiyun is Industrial Design graduate, experienced with Serivce Design. Based on her experience, she is interested in design approach from user's perspective.
Minsik is an industrial designer who joined BDCI right after his graduation. He is a designer with passion and commitment.
Representative Japanese industrial designer Fumie Shibata graduated Musashino Art University in Japan and established Design Studio S thought Toshiba.
The work with BDCI is water purifier Wall for Magic, Beverage Bar and Compact Water purifier for Osmosis. Recently, BDCI managed Fumie's European projects
for a new challenge. She has been a president of Japan Good Design Award since 2018.
Chiaki Murata is Applied Physics graduate of Osaka University and established Hers Design Inc. in 1986 after his professional experience in Sanyo.
His major work with BDCI is Slim water purifier for Coway. Recently, his design of water purifier, air purifier and bidet for Woongjin has launched in the market and
working with Samsung Electronics for a new project.
Kazushige Miyake graduated Tama Art University in Japan and formed Miyake Design in 2005 after his professional experience in England and Fukazawa Naoto in Japan.
He worked with BDCI for Coway’s water purifier and furniture companies in Korea since 2018. He is a jury of Japan Good Design Award.
TECHNICAL & ACTUALIZING PARTNERS
BDCI's Actualizing Lab specializes in Design for Manufacture and Actualizing (DFMA). As it started from the perspective that the beautiful appearance of the product is derived from a clear relationship with the inside of the product. Thinksmaker is working on design with innovativeness of internal structure, study and verification of new expression, product development of hardware start-ups, as well as solving problems that arise during the process of mass production of exisiting designs.
BDCI is interested in making good design and talking about it.
This effort naturally leads to a long-term relationship with a client, based on trustability.
As such relationship that has formed over a long period, time will make important base understand client’s corporate culture, and let us understand and contribute to their future.
